Customs Clearance Executive

Who we are

Established almost 40 years ago, the George Baker Group is a significantly different company to the one first created by George in 1982. Through organic growth and a broadening of expertise, we have continuously evolved our offering, introducing new and industry leading services to trading businesses around the world.

Whilst the future is bright, it is the past that has empowered the George Baker Group to evolve into the company it is today, with same core values that the company was conceived on, forming the heartbeat of everything we do as a business.

Since the very start, the George Baker Group has always aimed to employ only the best people, that truly represent the company’s values for quality and reliability. Having a team of people that understand the company’s heritage, but that also share an ambition for progression has undoubtably been the key to our sustained success.

Now directly employing over 80 members of staff, we have a wealth of knowledge and expertise running through the core of the company, with many of our key staff rising through the ranks. Our leadership team is comprised of people who possess an impressive track record of customs, transport and logistics sector experience and that more importantly have a strong understanding of the ‘George Baker way’.

What we're looking for

As a family business, the community we have created within the George Baker Group is one of our proudest achievements. As a priority, we are looking for a team-player, with good communication skills and who can work with others in a friendly but focused environment.

This position requires 2-3 years customs clearance experience as a minimum, with good knowledge and operational experience in the fields of Customs Warehousing, Inward Processing or CFSP, as well as determining the correct Customs Classifications, Origin and Valuation methods.

Whilst we are looking for someone with experience, we are also looking for someone who is progressive in the way they work and who is flexible to adapt to new working practices.
