RI Numbers
Commercial Importations
If you are importing goods into the UK and selling them you must hold an EORI number.
This number must be shown on the C88 import entry document that your Clearance agent will submit to Customs on your behalf.
If you are VAT registered in the UK, we can check your VAT number for you to see whether the Customs computer will recognise it as an EORI number. If not then you need to apply to Customs on form C220 which is specifically designed for applications by VAT registered traders.
If you are not VAT registered in the UK, you can apply for an EORI number on form C220A.
Private importations
If you are bringing your own used personal effects into the UK on change of residence you do NOT need an EORI number.
